Come on the ultimate tour for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts. You will be picked up from the Dunedin i-SITE and enjoy a scenic drive along beautiful Otago Peninsula to arrive at the Royal Albatross Centre situated at Pukekura, Taiaroa Head.
Meet the Royals of Taiaroa on your Albatross tour to see the giant Royal Albatross chicks from our exclusive observatory on the nature reserve. You’ll learn about the amazing albatross and their unique breeding colony at Taiaroa Head. You may even see a huge albatross with a three metre wingspan glide silently by.
Tuck into a Hearty Birdwatchers Tea of fish and chips, served with a delicious sweet slice and a choice of either tea or coffee. Explore the interactive displays and learn more about the 20+ species that call Taiaroa Head home.
Join the Blue Penguins Pukekura tour at dusk and watch the the world’s smallest penguins as they return home to their cliff-side burrows after a day at sea. Discover more about the work done by Pukekura Trust to help the little blue penguins thrive.
